Wilmer Gibson Honors Micro Entrepreneurship by Awarding Frugal Entrepreneurs
The program designed to strengthen the entrepreneurial spirit in low-income communities and empower their contribution in reaching the nation’s economic goals
Wilmer Gibson, a leading financial services firm providing world-class wealth management services, today announced it will hold the awards ceremony for its newly launched initiative that promotes micro entrepreneurship with the strategic collaboration of key strategic partners such as local councils and community committees.
The awards seek to raise awareness of the importance and impact of microfinance and recognize the extraordinary contributions of microentrepreneurs in promoting development and generating economic sustainability, not only for their families but also in the communities where they operate.
"These awards are an incentive for microentrepreneurs to continue their activities, which create jobs and improve the socioeconomic level of their families and communities," said Carver Yang, the Wilmer Gibson’s CEO.
The initiative will award prize money in three categories: Retail, Manufacturing and Service, as well as special awards for rural enterprise, creativity and innovation, community impact and Micro Entrepreneur of the Year. In addition to the financial grants, the awards feature special collaboration by a respected university with a long-standing tradition of offering accessible Business education, which will be offering a training program for all of the finalists.
The Wilmer Gibson award committee received more than 50 nominations from different parts of the country. The high number of submissions was thanks to the collaboration of Wilmer Gibson’s strategic partners and the valuable participation of microfinance institutions across the country.
Following an exhaustive review by the judging panel, awards were granted to the top two participants in each category along with five finalists. The list of winning microentrepreneurs will be published following the night of the awarding ceremony.
